Hello, They finished the procedure around 5pm. It went smoothly with no complications 🙏 The surgeon was able to remove more mass than initially anticipated and fortunately it wasn’t located very close to the brain. I am in ICU now and Jyothy can answer questions though she is not fully awake and was able to identify me.I will send the next update once she is fully awake. Thank you so much for keeping us in your prayers and thoughts 🙏🙏🙏

Good Morning! Jyothy is managing well but experiencing some pain. Last night, she slept in 30 minute intervals. She is receiving medication whenever she complains about pain but the relief doesn’t last long. We were informed that this is normal so we plan to discuss it with the doctor this morning. Her smile says that she is in a better position today than yesterday regarding pain ❤️

The doctor visited this afternoon and suggested Jyothy to begin walking. He confirmed that the surgery went smoothly and there is no cause for concern. They will closely monitor the brain drain and remove it if everything appears normal by tomorrow. If all goes well, Jyothy may be able to go home on Friday provided that she is active enough to walk without any major support.

Good morning!! Jyothy had a good night sleep. This morning she walked around the bed and sat on the chair on her own. The physician assistant carefully removed the bandage & staples. The drain stopped and the pressure is looking good so they plan on removing the drain this afternoon once they confirm with the doctor. She is still under pain so they gave a small dose of medication which seems to be working as you can tell by her smile and thumb’s up ❤️

Thursday 7pm, May 2nd, 2024

Good evening! Jyothy had a good day. She successfully walked twice in the hallway with the support of an occupational therapist and a walker. She also showed a good appetite for solid foods which is a promising sign. This morning's medication has caused some drowsiness so the medical team has decided to give it in three smaller doses tomorrow instead of one large dose. The doctor has decided to keep the drain pipe in place for an extra day to monitor the situation before making a decision on next steps. The doctor has stopped by for a visit and told Jyothy that she is making good progress in her recovery . We are grateful for all the thoughts and prayers that have been sent her way 🙏

Friday 11:25am, May 3rd, 2024

Jyothy had a rough start to the day with significant pain after relying on Tylenol for most of yesterday. We reassured her that it is completely ok to take pain medication since it is only been a couple of days since her surgery. She took some pain medication to alleviate her pain. The *good news* is that the medical team has removed the drain pipe. Through her will power she was able to tolerate the pain and get through the toughest part. She is a true trooper❤️. She is doing well after she had oatmeal for breakfast but still needs pain medication to remain comfortable. We expect her to be transferred from the ICU to a regular room later today. She will remain in the hospital until she is completely pain free and not in need of IV medication for at least a day before being discharged. Please continue to keep Jyothy in your thoughts & prayers and send positive vibes her way. Thank you 🙏

9pm Friday, May 3rd, 2024

Jyothy has made good progress showing improvement in her recovery. She again walked in the hallway with the support of a walker and responded well to treatment. She was transferred from the ICU to a regular room in the evening around 7pm where she is now comfortably settled. She is receiving pain medication and is managing it well. Raaga’s visit brought her extreme joy ❤️. She has just finished dinner and is going back to bed. The medical team will continue to closely monitor Jyothy’s progress.

Saturday 1pm, May 4th, 2024

Last night was tough for Jyothy as she experienced excruciating pain, but things are looking better this morning. The medical team has advised her to notify them immediately if her pain level increases by 2 points from her comfort level so they can address it with minimal medication rather than using high doses to force the pain down. The doctor's visit went well and he reassured her that she can be discharged as soon as she has gone 24 hours without requiring IV medication and is pain free. Jyothy is doing a great job 👍 managing her excruciating pain.

Saturday 11pm, May 4th, 2024

Jyothy has made excellent progress this afternoon and evening. She walked with a walker by herself, had a good conversation with Raaga and Taara a couple of times❤️, enjoyed her lunch and dinner, and was all smiles all day feeling confident that everything is good and she is fine❤️. She has not received any IV medication since 4am this morning which is a very good sign of her excellent progress. We are hoping she will have a good night's sleep and feel normal in the morning 👍

11am, Sunday, May 5th, 2024

Last night was smooth for Jyothy. She was well rested and had an appetite for more food enjoying some late night pasta and remaining IV free throughout the night. She was eagerly waiting to take a shower, which was finally granted this morning. She was thrilled to hear that and felt relieved as she took care of her tangled hair during the shower which was one of the reasons she was experiencing so much pain. The doctor visited and after seeing her excellent progress said she could go home if she feels like it sometime today. I told him that I would like to see her progress after her walk and lunch. He agreed so it looks good so far for her to be back home this afternoon or evening with Raaga and Taara ❤️

5pm Sunday, May 5th, 2024

Jyothy seemed to be fine after lunch. She is all set to be discharged after receiving some assistance from a physical therapist to walk and climb the stairs exercises. She managed it pretty well though she was a little tired after the shower. She will soon be home ❤️

11:45pm Sunday, May 5th, 2024

Jyothy has been discharged from the hospital in the evening after the doctor gave a thumbs up for her to go home following excellent progress throughout the day. She was warmly welcomed by the girls. Her happiness knew no bounds as she hugged the girls and read the 'Welcome Home' and 'Get Well Soon' cards which they had made for her ❤️. She followed the schedule by eating dinner, taking medication, and finally resting for the night. We are grateful to each and every one of you who have kept her in your thoughts and prayers, sending positive vibes throughout her surgery and recovery process. Your prayers and thoughts have definitely helped her make excellent progress in her recovery and return home 🙏. We will continue to update you on her recovery progress.
